Orthodontics deals with the issue of crooked and crowded teeth (usually at the front of the mouth.) Treatment is sometimes necessary to change the position of teeth in order for them to bite and function effectively.
It is not only children who have their teeth straightened. Many adults now ask for this treatment in order to improve their appearance and smile. Modern techniques and equipment mean the results can be outstanding.
Orthodontic treatment relies on patience, cooperation and dedication from the patient because it is a time-consuming process.
Our orthodontics studio offers all treatments in this field, thanks to the expertise of highly trained specialists Cheryl and Julia, who are both qualified hospital consultants. They will always discuss your diagnosis, treatment options and prices clearly. We also offer an interest-free credit facility to help you pay for treatment.
Treatments
Fixed braces, often known as “train tracks”, are attached to the teeth, with archwires to control movements. Tooth-coloured brackets are now available to make the braces less conspicuous.
Removable braces can be taken out of the mouth for cleaning. These use springs, wires and sometimes screws to reposition the teeth and are used for slightly less advanced problems.
Functional braces can also be removed and use facial and jaw muscles to change the bite and position of the teeth.
Invisible braces – the InLine system from Germany.
Invisible braces use clear transparent splints to gradually guide your teeth into a better position.
This can be used to treat many types of orthodontic problems.
